The chemical, for example, inorganic fertilizer, is a constituent of an elastomeric formulation, rubber, which is produced in a strip form, usually 1 inch wide by one-eighth inch thick. A pellet form can also be produced, approximately 1/4 inch on a side. Bloomstrip works on a phenomenon called bloom, where one or more ingredients of the formulation migrate to the surface of the rubber over time. The stripping rests on the soil and ambient conditions cause it to go into the soil. Bloomstrip can deliver fertilizer, herbicide, fungicide, algicide, growth regulators, and more.
