The ObjectiveTo design a system that will deliver a desired chemical directly to a site, over time, with no contamination of the surrounding area. This technology, or system, is environmentally friendly. The ProcedureIncorporate the desired chemical into an elastomeric matrix, like rubber. The formulation will then utilize the phenomenon called "bloom", whereby one or more ingredients of such a formulation migrate to the surface, where ambient conditions cause the transfer of the chemical to the immediate area on which the elastomeric formulation rests. In strip form, this can be readily placed around seeds or seedlings. The chemical is delivered over time with no unwanted transfer to adjacent areas. This system is environmentally friendly. The next step was to produce Bloomstrip with inorganic fertilizer, such as nitrate and ammoniacal nitrogen, and have it tested at a major university. The ResultsRutgers University - The State University of New Jersey - Agricultural Research Center conducted tests on Bloomstrip . The test results were positive on tomatoes and peppers using sheets like strips. A new test series has been positively evaluated using a pellet form of the product. The IndicationsThe Bloomstrip patented technology can be used to deliver fungicides, pesticides, algicides, pheremones, and more, to a site with no contamination of another area.
